Safety Protocols
(aligned to the State Health Department COVID-19 color coding map which is updated weekly)
Green
- Temperature checks of students entering school buildings or boarding buses.
- Masks/Face coverings are RECOMMENDED for all students and staff but not required.
- Social distancing is RECOMMENDED.
- Proper washing of hands and hygiene should be practiced.
- Visitors must wear masks, have temperature taken, and answer health screening questions.
- In-person instruction is RECOMMENDED.
- Public events are allowed on campus with safety protocols in place.
Yellow
- Temperature checks of students entering school buildings or boarding buses.
- Staff temperatures taken.
- Masks/Face coverings are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all students and staff but not required.
- Social distancing is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for students and staff members.
- Proper washing of hands and hygiene HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
- Visitors must wear masks, have temperature taken, and answer health screening questions and will be limited to main office access only with principal permission.
- In-person instruction is RECOMMENDED.
- Public events are allowed on campus with safety protocols in place.
Orange
- Temperature checks of students entering school buildings or boarding buses.
- Staff temperatures taken.
- Masks/Face coverings are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for all students and staff members.
- Parents may request for their student to move over to remote learning during this level by notifying the school. Students working remotely will have assignments that are equivalent to in-class instruction and covering the same material.
- Social distancing is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for students and staff members.
- Visitors are REQUIRED to wear masks, have temperature taken, and answer health screening questions and will be limited only to main office area.
- In-person instruction is RECOMMENDED.
- Only school sponsored extracurricular activities can be held on campus. Public events are postponed during this time.
Red
- NOTE: MPS COULD MOVE OVER TO REMOTE LEARNING AT THIS LEVEL DEPENDING ON LOCAL HEALTH CONDITIONS. Information will be obtained from the Garvin County & State Health Departments regarding the pandemic. The district will decide and communicate it as quickly as possible.
- Temperature checks are REQUIRED for anyone entering a school building or boarding a bus.
- Masks/Face coverings are REQUIRED for all students/staff during passing periods and large gatherings inside the buildings. Once in the classroom, coverings may be removed.
- Visitors are REQUIRED to wear masks, have temperature taken, and answer health screening questions and will be limited only to main office area.
- Visitors will only be allowed by appointment and are REQUIRED to follow are current level safety protocols.
- Extracurricular activities will be held at the discretion of the district.
- Public events are not allowed on school campuses.
